1. a) Read the dictionary entry. What is the climate in your country?

   Climate — the typical weather conditions of a particular place, e.g. wet, humid, etc.

   b) What characterises tundra and hot desert climates? Listen and read to find out.

2. Read the text again and decide if the sentences are T (for tundra climate) or HD (for hot desert climate).

   1. It doesn’t rain very often.
   2. It’s very cold even during summertime.
   3. Several kinds of plants can live there.
   4. There’s no sun during the winter.
