What have you done to help people?
1. The reporter from the school newspaper got the task to write about “Willing Helpers” and their work. He is talking to the children.
1) What questions does he ask?
— I know that “Willing Helpers” has done a lot of work. Who have you helped?
— We’ve helped elderly and lonely people, and the children in the local hospital.
— Great! Can you tell me the names of people that “Willing Helpers” has visited this month? What have you done to help them?
— Alex has raked the leaves in Mrs Welsh’s garden and the girls have cleaned the house.
— And we’ve also helped the children in the local hospital.
— We have also helped Mr Elson and Mr Davis this week.
— Great! You’ve really worked well.
2) What useful things have the children done this week/month? What verb form do they use?

The Present Perfect Tense
Настоящее совершённое время
1. Когда мы говорим о действии, которое завершилось, и нам важно действие и его результат в настоящем, а не время, когда оно произошло, то мы используем Present Perfect:
We have raked the leaves in Mrs Welsh’s garden. — Мы сгребли листья в саду миссис Велш. (Неважно, когда дети сгребли листья, важно, что сад убран.)
2. Когда мы говорим о действии, которое завершилось, но период времени, когда оно произошло, ещё не истёк (today, this week, this month), мы также используем Present Perfect:
What have you done this month? — Что вы сделали в этом месяце? We’ve helped elderly and lonely people this month. — Мы помогли старым и одиноким людям в этом месяце. (Месяц ещё не завершился.)

1) The reporter asks:
- Who have you helped?
- Can you tell me the names of people that “Willing Helpers” has visited this month?
- What have you done to help them?
2) This week/month the children have raked the leaves, cleaned the house, and helped elderly and lonely people, as well as the children in the local hospital. They use the Present Perfect tense.
3) We use the Present Perfect when the action is finished, but its result is important now, or when the time period is not over yet, for example: today, this week, this month.
