Pupil 1: Why do you like it?

Pupil 2: I like it because it is a family holiday. We have a big dinner, decorate the house and get presents.

Pupil 1: How did you celebrate it last year?

Pupil 2: Last year we celebrated it at home with my family. We watched TV, had a tasty dinner and gave each other presents.

2) In my Culture

In Russia we celebrate many holidays and celebrations. The most popular holidays are New Year, Christmas, Defender of the Fatherland Day, International Women’s Day, Victory Day and Russia Day. People usually spend holidays with their families, give presents, visit relatives and friends, and have special meals. On New Year’s Eve many families decorate a New Year tree and watch a holiday show on TV. On Victory Day people remember the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and watch parades.
