Marie Curie, whose real name was Manya Sklodowska, was born on 7th November, 1867, in Warsaw, Poland. She studied Physics and Maths in Paris, France. On 25th July, 1895, she married Pierre Curie. Together they discovered polonium and radium. Marie Curie won two Nobel Prizes for Physics and was the first woman to teach at Sorbonne University. She died on 4th July, 1934, of leukemia caused by radiation exposure. She was important because her discoveries helped science and medicine greatly.
