Dear Alex,
1) Sorry I haven’t written sooner but I’ve been really busy. I’m here in Thailand working as a volunteer for the Elephant Refuge and Education Centre (EREC). It’s a charitable organisation and I really love it.
2) EREC helps elephants that roam the streets of Bangkok. It takes care of them and gives them a safe place to live. When I arrived here, they taught me all about looking after the animals and then I got to meet them. They’re amazing! Today, I’ve washed and fed them. I’ve also taken one out to a lake for a swim. I’ve never been so wet in my life!
3) It’s hard work but it’s enjoyable and I’ve met a lot of great people. The best part about working for EREC in Thailand is that I get to help endangered animals and still have fun at the same time.

I’m in Greece working as a volunteer for the Sea Turtle Protection Society.We patrol the beaches, pick up rubbish, survey and protect nests and eggs, and give information to tourists about turtles. So far, I’ve already helped on the beach and talked to visitors about protecting turtles.
It’s hard work, but I really enjoy it. I feel happy because I’m helping endangered animals and making a difference. I’ve also met some great people here.
