Dear Dora,
I am writing to you from Rome, Italy’s capital city. My family and I decided to come here this summer. I am writing this postcard to you. Hopefully it will be hot again soon. There are a lot of sights to visit here. Therefore, I go sightseeing every day. I am enjoying that very much. Most afternoons we go shopping and then we have dinner at excellent restaurants near the river. Tomorrow, we are planning to go on a guided tour in the Vatican. I am sure it will be a unique experience. I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

The model is not appropriate because a postcard should be short and informal. It also uses too many full sentences, too much formal language, and the wrong layout for a postcard. In a postcard, we usually omit some pronouns, articles and auxiliaries, and we write in a more chatty style.
