The United Kingdom is rich in rivers. There are 30 rivers and more than 50 small rivers in the country. The Thames is the most famous river in the UK. However, the longest river on the island is the Severn, which is 354 km long. It starts in Wales, crosses England and flows into the Atlantic Ocean (near Bristol). The Severn runs across wonderful countryside: green fields and hills. A lot of historic towns and cities are located on the banks of the Severn. No wonder that the river attracts lots of tourists. In summer many of them like cycling along the river. They explore the countryside and take lots of wonderful photos.
