The giant panda is white with large black patches around its eyes, ears and body. It is a very beautiful and unusual animal.
The panda eats bamboo. It can eat 18–38 kg of bamboo a day. In zoos, pandas can also eat honey, eggs, fish, oranges and bananas.
Giant pandas are good tree climbers. They are very peaceful animals.
The panda is an endangered animal because people are cutting down bamboo forests, so it is losing its natural home and food.
