The national symbols of the UK
The national symbols of England are the red rose and the flag showing the St George’s Cross.
The national symbols of Scotland are the thistle and the flag showing the St Andrew’s Cross.
The national symbols of Wales are the daffodil and the flag showing the Red Dragon.
The national symbols of Northern Ireland are the shamrock and the flag showing the St Patrick’s Cross.
The flag of the United Kingdom is called the Union Jack. It consists of three crosses: the national flags of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Red Dragon isn’t on the Union Hag because England and Wales were united earlier then the Union Jack was created.
