В английском языке некоторые существительные являются неисчисляемыми (т. е. их нельзя посчитать). Например: nature, snow, sky, information, rain, sand, water, bread, butter, tea, chocolate, work, weather, money и т. д.
Неисчисляемые существительные
не употребляются во множественном числе:
I think you will not spend too much money on your trip to Paris.
Lena, could you help me? I have a lot of homework to do today.
Here is some new information about the weather in autumn.
не употребляются e неопределённым артиклем ‘a’:
Today the water in the sea is warm and dear, isn’t it?
I like sweet coffee. Please could you add sugar and milk?
согласуются с глаголом в единственном числе:
There is some butter in the fridge.
Неисчисляемое существительное ‘news’ имеет форму множественною числа, но тоже согласуется с глаголом в единственном числе:
No news is good news.

In English some nouns are uncountable, that is, they cannot be counted. For example: nature, snow, sky, information, rain, sand, water, bread, butter, tea, chocolate, work, weather, money, etc.

Uncountable nouns:

• are not used in the plural: I think you will not spend too much money on your trip to Paris.
• are not used with the indefinite article a: Today the water in the sea is warm and clear, isn’t it?
• agree with the verb in the singular: There is some butter in the fridge.

The uncountable noun news has a plural form, but it also agrees with the verb in the singular: No news is good news.
