He played the piano from three years old, and his first musical compositions were written when he was five. From 1771 to 1777, he played the piano in the Salzburg palace. In 1781 he went to Vienna and became a successful composer. His best-known opera was The Magic Flute. Orchestras play his music all over the world today.
