1) Today the girls are going to help their mother in different ways:
- Alice will wash the dishes.
- Ally will sweep the floor.
- One of the girls will give Mum a hand.
2) The girls offer help like this:
- Shall I wash the dishes?
- I’ll sweep the floor.
- Shall I give you a hand?
The mother accepts help and says:
- Thank you very much.
- Oh, thank you.
- It’s all right, thank you. I’ve already cleaned it.
The mother refuses help and says:
- It’s all right, thank you. I’ve already finished.
- It’s OK, thanks a lot.
- It’s all right, thank you. I’ve already cleaned it.
3) Sample dialogue:
— Mum, shall I wash the dishes?
— Thank you very much.— Mum, I’ll sweep the floor.
— Oh, thank you.— Mum, shall I give you a hand?
— It’s all right, thank you. I’ve already cleaned it.
4) The children also offer to do the shopping and clean the room.
