1. T086. You will hear a family talking over their tea. Listen to their conversation and try to guess who is speaking: the grandma, the grandpa, the mother, the father, the elder son, the younger son or the daughter. Make notes in your Workbook. Listen to the conversation again and make notes in your Workbook as to the key words for each speaker.

Grandma: home is the only place where she can quickly recover from a cold or flu; a place filled with love and care.

Grandpa: home is the only place where he can have a good night’s sleep.

Mother: happy to see all the family together; talking, sharing news, jokes, laughing; children, husband, parents; home; love dearly; life full and worth living.

Father: never at rest; questions; something has to be taken care of; fixing leaking taps, changing old light bulbs, hammering in nails; busy; loves it.

Elder son: relax; do nothing; watch TV.

Younger son: Santa Claus; leaves presents.

Daughter: play with dolls; have three meals a day; put up a Christmas tree.
