2. I was busy last night. I was looking for my jacket at the lost property.
3. The officer found my things easily because I could describe them in detail.

Разбор: Past Simple употребляется для законченного действия, а Past Continuous — для действия, которое происходило в определённый момент в прошлом.

b) At the lost property office, a man lost his umbrella and jacket. He asked the officer for help, and the officer found his things because he could describe them in detail.
