• What is special about St Petersburg? What happens at that time? Discuss in class.
• Look at the picture and discuss it with your partner. Imagine you are a tourist over there. What are you doing?

St Petersburg is special because it has 90 waterways, 42 islands and 300 bridges. It is often called the Venice of the North.

During the White Nights, from June until July, the sun does not set completely and a silver glow fills the sky. People go outside to enjoy this beautiful sight, sing and dance by the Neva River, watch the bridges open and see fireworks.

As a tourist, I am walking along the river, taking photos, watching the bridges open and enjoying the White Nights.
