Dear Diary, things are normal again after the getting fun of the holidays. I really must get back to school life. I am afraid I’m lazy. In the morning I heard the clock but I turned over and wanted to have more sleep. When somebody knocked on the door, I was angry because I thought it was my brother Tom. But the door opened and there stood my mother! At first she wasn’t smiling. “Janie, be a good girl, get up or you’ll have no breakfast. You are late again!” she said. Then she smiled and kissed me. When she does it, dear Diary, I love her so much and want to be good. When I came to the kitchen, everybody was eating pancakes but mum gave me an egg. “Pancakes are not for you, my dear Fatty, or soon you won’t have anything to wear to school.” I was really unhappy.
