Halloween is celebrated on October 31st in the USA, Canada, Britain and some other countries. People dress up as witches, ghosts, skeletons and other scary characters. They make jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins. Children sometimes go from house to house and ask for sweets. They usually get candies, chocolates or other treats.

Guy Fawkes’ Day is celebrated on November 5th in Britain. People dress up in old clothes or as Guy Fawkes. They make bonfires and sometimes lanterns. Children sometimes go from house to house and ask for “a penny for the Guy”. They usually get money.
