Work in pairs. One of you is a pupil from Britain and the other is a Russian pupil. Speak about your schools. Remember to say about:
- when you go to school and leave it;
- primary and secondary schools;
- examinations and marks;
- school holidays;
- school subjects;
- school life.
Sample dialogue:
British pupil: Hello! I’m from Britain. I go to school at 8:30 and leave at about 3:30. We have primary school and secondary school. At the end of the year we take examinations and get marks for our work.
Russian pupil: Hello! I’m from Russia. I usually go to school at 8 o’clock and leave at 2 or 3 p.m. We also have primary and secondary school. We get marks for our answers, tests and homework.
British pupil: We have school holidays in summer, at Christmas and at Easter. What about you?
Russian pupil: We have long summer holidays, autumn, winter and spring holidays.
British pupil: What school subjects do you like?
Russian pupil: I like English, Maths, History and PE. And you?
British pupil: I like English, Science and Geography. School life is interesting in both our countries.
