Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to the article about the lack of green spaces in our town. I think this is an important problem because parks and trees make a town healthier and more pleasant to live in.

First of all, the local council should turn empty land into small parks and community gardens. Even a few benches, trees and flower beds would make a big difference. Secondly, more trees could be planted along busy streets to improve the air and make the area look nicer. It would also be a good idea to protect the green spaces we already have, so they are not replaced by new buildings.

In addition, local people could help by joining clean-up days and planting events. This would make residents feel more involved in improving their neighbourhood.
