In fact I don’t believe in superstitions. But one day I had a very strange and scary experience.

It was a cold autumn evening. I was walking home alone when I saw a black cat crossing the road in front of me. I smiled and thought that it was just a cat. But a few minutes later I stepped on a crack in the pavement and suddenly my phone fell out of my pocket and broke. Then I remembered my grandmother’s words: “If you see a black cat and step on a crack, something bad may happen.”

I was frightened and hurried home. When I came into the house, I noticed that all the lights were off. I opened the door to my room and heard a strange noise behind me. My heart was beating very fast. I turned around and saw my little brother laughing. He had hidden in the dark to scare me.

Of course, it was only a joke, but I was so nervous that I could not sleep for a long time. Since that day I still do not believe in superstitions, but I always remember that scary evening.
