In our school the punishments are not very strict. If a pupil is late, he or she may get a warning from the teacher. If someone does not do homework, the teacher can ask them to stay after lessons and finish it. Sometimes pupils have to write an explanation or apologise to the class.

Compared with the punishments in the text, our school rules are much milder. We do not have severe punishments, because teachers try to be fair and polite. In my opinion, this is better, because it helps pupils understand their mistakes without feeling too upset.
