Which of the following statements do you agree/disagree with? Why?

• Friends at school are a waste of time; you go to school to learn.
• A lot of friends are a waste of time.
• People cannot do without friends.

I disagree with the first and the second statements. Friends at school are not a waste of time, because friends help us, support us and make school life more interesting. A lot of friends are not a waste of time either, if they are real friends. We can learn to communicate, share and work together.

I agree with the third statement. People cannot do without friends, because friends are important in our life. They give us advice, help us in difficult situations and make us feel happy.
