Recycling paper is important, not a waste of time. Less energy is needed to make new paper from recycled paper, and fewer materials are used. When a lot of people recycle paper, a lot of trees are saved, and the forest and its wildlife are protected. When forests are cut down, fewer animals have homes. Every year an area of rainforest the size of Wales is cut down, and a lot of animals disappear. When the rainforest is destroyed, it causes global warming. It is good when children are taught about the environment from a young age.
2) What happens when people do not recycle paper?
When people do not recycle paper, more trees are cut down, more energy and materials are used, fewer animals have homes, and the environment is damaged. Global warming also gets worse.
