1. Using the fact file and the list of useful words and expressions, give a short outline of Miklouho-Maclay’s biography.

Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay was a Russian explorer and scientist. He was born in 1846. He studied at university and became interested in anthropology and natural history. In 1871, he travelled to New Guinea and lived among the local people. He learned about their way of life and studied them carefully. Miklouho-Maclay also visited other places in the Pacific. He returned to Russia later and continued his scientific work. He died in 1888.
