1. a) Read the article and list viewpoints for and against computers.
   b) Look at the words in italics. Which ones are used to: add points? show contrast? conclude? What are they in your language?

3a) For: computers are useful for online learning, web design and making web pages; they help us learn about new gadgets and other interesting things. Against: computers can be expensive, and people may spend too much time reading about them or using them.

3b) The words in italics are used to:

• add points: plus — «к тому же», «плюс»;
• show contrast: but — «но»;
• conclude: so — «итак», «значит».
