One popular Russian folk tale is “The Fox and the Crane.” It is about friendship, politeness, and fairness.

The main characters are a fox and a crane. The fox invites the crane to dinner, but serves the food on a flat plate, so the crane cannot eat it. Then the crane invites the fox and serves the food in a tall jar, so the fox cannot eat it either.

The story shows that people should treat others the way they want to be treated. It teaches us to be polite, kind, and fair.
