Organising your writing
The first paragraph introduces the topic by giving a short summary of it. The second and third paragraphs are the main body. Each paragraph introduces a new idea and explains it. The last paragraph is the conclusion which also gives a short summary of the topic in other words.
6 Portfolio: Write an article about a person you admire for the school magazine. Use the paragraph plan in Ex. 5 to help you and the text in Ex. 1 as a model. (80-100 words)

I admire my grandmother very much. She is a kind, strong and hardworking person, and she always helps our family.

My grandmother is a teacher. She loves her job and her students respect her a lot. She is very patient and explains everything clearly. In her free time, she likes gardening and reading books.

I admire her because she is always ready to help other people. She never complains and stays positive even when life is difficult. She teaches me to be honest, responsible and kind.

In short, my grandmother is a wonderful person. I am proud of her and I hope to be like her one day.
