Speaker 1
Yesterday I saw “Matilda” in the cinema. It is rather an old film, but I liked it a lot. I had seen the film before and enjoyed watching it then too. The story about a sweet little girl, very talented and brave, and the terrible head of a school is still interesting.
Speaker 2
One of the famous silent films is the “Kid”. It was on the screen at the beginning of the 20th century. Charlie Chaplin played its central role. Jackie Coogan played the part of a boy. The film is both funny and sad which is typical of all Chaplin’s comedies.
Speaker 3
I would like to tell you a few words about one of Nikita Mikhalkov’s films. Its title is “The Barber of Siberia”. The film was a great success. Its budget was 45 million dollars. There were 250 actors in the crew and thousands of other specialists. They all worked mainly in Nizhny Novgorod.
Speaker 4
One of the most successful directors in Hollywood is Steven Spielberg. His film “Jurassic Park” was really very good and unusual. People could see it in cinemas all over the world. The film is about dinosaurs, not millions of years ago, but in the present day.
Speaker 5
My favourite film is “The Sound of Music”. It is a famous film with seven children’s characters and Julie Andrews who plays the central part in it. There is a lot of music and songs in the film. Many of them became quite popular and people sing them everywhere. Nowadays you can see “The Sound of Music” in a theatre too.
