The best seats in modern theatres are usually in the middle of the stalls, a little away from the stage. From there you can see and hear everything well. The worst seats are often at the very back, near the walls, or too close to the stage, where it is difficult to see the whole performance.

My relatives and I usually prefer to sit in the middle rows, because the view is good and the sound is clear. We do not like the front row or the last row.
