Situation One. Two friends would like to spend an evening watching a film. One of them likes adventure films, the other is for watching a musical comedy. The friends know what films are on in the nearby cinema houses. They discuss some of the possibilities and then decide where to go and what film to see.
Situation Two. Two friends are finishing school and discussing their future. One of them wants to become an actor. He/she is fond of cinema, enjoys watching films and thinks that being an actor is the best occupation a person can have. The second speaker warns his/her friend about possible difficulties and disadvantages of this profession.

Situation One
A: Let’s go to the cinema tonight. I’d like to see an adventure film.
B: I’d rather watch a musical comedy. They are usually funny and relaxing.
A: What films are on in the nearby cinemas?
B: There is an adventure film at the Central Cinema and a musical comedy at the Star Cinema.
A: The adventure film sounds exciting, but the Star Cinema is closer.
B: Yes, and the musical comedy starts earlier.
A: All right, let’s go to the Star Cinema and see the musical comedy.
Situation Two
A: I’ve decided to become an actor. I love cinema and I think acting is the best job in the world.
B: Being an actor is interesting, but it is not easy. You need a lot of talent and hard work.
A: I’m ready to work hard. I enjoy performing and I want to be on the stage or in films.
B: But actors often have a lot of stress, busy schedules and no regular life.
A: That may be true, but I still want to try. I think it is a wonderful profession.
B: Then I hope you succeed, but remember that every profession has its difficulties.
