She drew up the curtains and opened the window itself, which she had closed the evening before. Mary put her hand out and held it in the sun.
“It must be very early,” she said. “I have never seen such a blue sky. I think no one is up yet. I will go and see what has happened to the garden. I’d like to find out if it has changed since I fell asleep last night.
I hope the tulips have appeared in my Secret Garden.” Mary dressed and five minutes later she was flying downstairs.
