Writing tip
A letter reviewing a book certains a short description to inform the recipient about a book you’ve read. Present tenses are usually used as well as a variety of adjectives to make your description more specific and interesting. Reviewing a book usually includes:
an introduction giving background information about the book, e.g. the title, type of book, the name of the author;
a main body consisting of a paragraph presenting the main points of the plot and making general comments on the plot, the main characters, the beginning/ ending, etc;
a conclusion in which you recommend/don’t recommend the book, giving reasons.

1 How’s everything? I’ve just read The Fifth Wave, a gripping science-fiction novel by award-winning author Rick Yancey, and I want to tell you about it because I’m sure you’ll want to read it too!
2 The intriguing story follows Cassie Sullivan, a 16-year-old who is one of the last survivors on Earth after a series -waves — of devastating alien attacks. The fast-paced plot is full of thrilling moments, making the book impossible to put down. The main characters are well-developed and realistic.
