The worst natural disaster I have read about was the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. It happened on 26 December 2004 near Indonesia. A huge earthquake caused giant waves that hit many countries, including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand. Thousands of people were killed, and many homes were destroyed. It was one of the most terrible disasters in modern history.
