Natural disasters can sometimes be predicted, but not always. For example, earthquakes are very difficult to predict, while hurricanes, floods and volcanic eruptions can often be forecast with the help of modern technology.

After a natural disaster, people usually face many dangers: fires, floods, lack of clean water, injuries, destroyed houses and roads, and sometimes radiation, as in Fukushima.

People can get ready for such disasters by learning safety rules, making emergency kits, preparing food, water and medicines, and following warnings from rescue services.

People and countries should help each other by sending rescuers, medicine, food, clothes and financial support. International cooperation is very important in such situations.

To prevent terrible results in the future, people should build safer houses, improve warning systems, protect the environment and use modern technologies to reduce risks.
