I live in a small town in the south of Russia. It is situated not far from the regional centre and about 1,000 kilometres from Moscow, the capital of our country.

The population of my town is about 50,000 people. Most of them are Russians, but there are also people of other nationalities. Russian is spoken here, and English is taught at school.

My town is not very big, but it is beautiful and comfortable. There are many apartment houses, wide streets, shops, a library, a cinema and a small theatre. In the centre of the town there are some old buildings and a nice park.

The nature around my town is very attractive. There is a river near it, and in summer the weather is usually warm and sunny. In spring and summer many flowers and trees make the town green and bright. You can also see different birds and small animals here.

All in all, I like my town because it is quiet, friendly and pleasant to live in.
