1. The popular inventions of the 20th century mentioned in the text are computers, mobile phones, personal digital assistants and the Internet.

2. Teenagers send messages instead of using the telephone, listen to music on a computer instead of a radio or stereo, watch DVDs on a computer instead of on television and even do their homework on a computer.
