Crystal-clear wonder

Lake Baikal is one of the most amazing places on our planet. It is the deepest lake in the world and contains about one fifth of all the fresh water on Earth. Scientists say that the water in Baikal is incredibly clean and clear, so you can often see very deep into it. The lake is more than 25 million years old, and many rare plants and animals live there. For example, the Baikal seal is found nowhere else in the world. Tourists, scientists and nature lovers all come to admire this natural wonder.
