1. Read some ads and say what clothes and footwear they are about and what is special about them.
2. Imagine you are in the UK. You’ve got ?100. You want to buy some presents for your relatives and friends. Look through the things on pp. 161–162 and make a choice. What would happen if you bought some of these things?

1) The ads are about clothes and footwear. They are special because they are brightly coloured, fashionable, comfortable and can help people choose the right thing.

2) If I were in the UK and had £100, I would buy some presents for my relatives and friends. For example, I would choose a brightly coloured cardigan for my sister, a pair of comfortable shoes for my mother and a stylish T-shirt for my friend. If my sister got a brightly coloured cardigan, she would be happy. If my mother got comfortable shoes, she would be pleased. If my friend got a stylish T-shirt, he would like it.

Grammar: in these sentences we use if + Past Simple and would + verb to speak about a possible situation and its result.
