- Here’s an extract from your British friend’s letter. Respond to the letter, send your Christmas wishes to him/her and ask him/her questions to find out what Boxing Day is (no less than 4 questions). (120 words)
In a week we are going to celebrate Christmas. It’s our favourite family holiday. My sister is coming for the Christmas holidays soon. I can’t wait for Boxing Day. I have many relatives and most of them come to our place on Boxing Day every year. Does your family celebrate Christmas? What is your favourite family holiday?
Dear friend,
Thank you for your letter. Christmas is coming soon, and I’d like to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope you will have a wonderful time together and get many nice presents.
I have some questions about Boxing Day. What do people usually do on this day? Is it a public holiday in Britain? Do you visit your relatives or friends on Boxing Day? Why is it called Boxing Day? Is it connected with boxes or gifts?
Best wishes,
Mike
