- V WRITING
You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen friend Dave.
I’m very excited about the coming holidays. My family are going on a three-week holiday to Southend on Sea this summer. It is a nice town with lots of hotels, theatres, cinemas and a very nice beach and the longest pier in the world. We are going there in July. It’s the time of year when so many people go on holidays and the hotels are full. So, we are going on a package tour with everything included. Have you been on that type of holiday? What are your plans for the summer holidays? Is there anywhere you would like to travel to?…
Write Dave a letter and answer his 3 questions. Write 100–120 words. Remember the rules of letter writing.
Imagine you visited one of these places on holidays. Write a letter to your foreign friend about the place and how you spent your time there. (Letter writing; 150–180 words.)
Dear Tom,
I’d like to tell you about my holiday in Sochi. It is a very beautiful city on the Black Sea coast. The weather was warm and sunny, so I spent a lot of time outdoors.
Every morning I went to the beach with my family. We swam in the sea, played volleyball and built sandcastles. In the afternoon we walked along the promenade, visited a small café and tried delicious local food. One day we went to the mountains and took many photos of the amazing views.
I also made new friends there. We talked, played games and had a lot of fun together. In the evenings we watched the sunset and listened to music.
I enjoyed my holiday very much because it was active, interesting and relaxing at the same time. I hope to visit Sochi again next summer.
Best wishes,
Alex
