Mother: We’ll call the doctor. He will take your temperature and tell us what to do.
Daughter/Son: All right. Can I go to the chemist’s and buy a medicine for my cough?

b)

Doctor: What’s the matter with you?
Patient: It hurts to walk. I fell down while playing basketball.
Doctor: Let me examine your leg. You should stay at home.
Patient: Will you write out a prescription?
Doctor: Yes, and rub the medicine in as I told you.

c)

Pupil 1: Hello! Why aren’t you at school?
Pupil 2: I’m staying at home from school. I’m staying in bed because I have a temperature. I’ve come down with a cold.
Pupil 1: Oh, dear! Do you cough and sneeze?
Pupil 2: Yes, I do. I’m taking a lot of medicines, but I hope I’ll get better soon.
