1. The verbs in bold are in the Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect Continuous and Past Simple.
A permanent state: He lives in London.
Expressing anger or irritation at a repeated action: You are always leaving your things everywhere!
An action which started in the past and continues up to the present with emphasis on the duration: I have been waiting for you for two hours.
An action that happened at an unstated time in the past: She has just left.
Other uses:
- Present Simple — for habits and routines: She gets up at 7 o’clock every day.
- Present Continuous — for actions happening now or around now: They are studying for the test at the moment.
- Present Perfect Continuous — for temporary actions: He has been working here since May.
- Past Simple — for finished actions in the past: We visited Paris last summer.
