B: Haven’t they been to Italy before?
4 A: Is Bob there?
B: I’m afraid he’s gone to the shops. I’ll tell him you called.

B: They’ve gone to the park to play football.

1. She’s gone to her house in the country and I’m taking care of her cat until she returns. — Present Perfect: действие уже произошло, и результат важен сейчас.

2. Since 1990. — since используется с моментом начала действия.

3. Haven’t they been to Italy before? — вопрос о прошлом опыте, поэтому Present Perfect.

4. I’m afraid he’s gone to the shops. I’ll tell him you called. — gone значит «ушёл и ещё не вернулся».

5. They’ve gone to the park to play football. — gone показывает, что дети ушли туда и сейчас их нет здесь.
