Dear Jean-Francois,

We finally made it. The first manned hot-air balloon flight is going to happen! We made the balloon from paper and cloth. To make it float, we filled it with hot air. The first passengers were a sheep, a duck and a rooster.

King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette were very interested in our invention. The king has agreed to the first flight with human passengers.
