A teenage magazine has asked its readers to take part in the annual short storv competition entitled It happened to me. Write your story for the competition (120-180 words).
1 What are you going to write? Who for?
2 What kind of story will you write?
3 Who will the main character(s) be?
4 When/Where will the story take place?
5 What will the events be? List them in chronological order.
6 What will the climax event be?
7 What will happen in the end?
8 How will the main character(s) feel in the end?

1. I’m going to write a short story for a teenage magazine.

2. It will be an exciting story based on a real-life experience.

3. The main character will be a teenage girl/boy and her/his friend.

4. The story will take place one summer afternoon in a park.

5. First, the main character goes for a walk with a friend. Then they hear someone calling for help. After that, they run to the lake and see a little child in trouble. They manage to help the child and call an adult.

6. The climax will be when the main character saves the child from danger.

7. In the end, the child is safe, and the main character is praised for being brave.

8. The main character will feel shocked at first, but later proud and happy.

Story

It happened to me last summer when I was walking in the park with my best friend, Tom. It was a warm sunny day, and everything seemed quiet and peaceful.

Suddenly, we heard a child shouting for help near the lake. We ran as fast as we could and saw a little boy in the water. He was trying to stay afloat, but he was very scared. Tom called an adult, while I found a long stick and helped the boy reach the bank.

Luckily, a man nearby came to help us, and soon the boy was safe. His mother arrived a few minutes later and thanked us again and again.

I was frightened at first, but after everything was over, I felt proud that we had helped someone in danger.
