Приведем выдержку из задания из учебника Баранова, Афанасьева, Михеева 9 класс, Дрофа: 11 Work in pairs and act out one of the following situations.
Situation One. Two teenagers are planning the coming weekend. One of them is fond of movies and invites his/her friend to join him/her and see one of the latest films together. The other doesn’t think it is a very good idea because all the films he/she has recently seen were very aggressive and violent and besides it’s a pity to be indoors on such a lovely day. Isn’t it better to spend the weekend exploring some places in the country? Each of the two teens puts forward arguments to support their points of view.
Situation Two. Two sisters/brothers are discussing the way to decorate the guest room for their cousin Rachel who is coming to spend the future summer holidays with them. One of them thinks that the girl’s room should be cosy and nice-looking and wants to put there a lot of pink cushions1, teddy bears, dolls, flowers and pictures of animals. The other disagrees and says that Rachel is a grown-up teen who would like to see photos of her favourite actors and athletes in her room as well as modern gadgets, youth magazines and pictures of motor bikes as she is fond of riding them.

Situation One
A: Why don’t we go to the cinema this weekend? There are some new films on now, and I’d really like to see one of them.
B: I don’t think that’s a very good idea. The last films I saw were too aggressive and violent. Besides, it’s such a lovely day that it would be a pity to stay indoors.
A: But going to the cinema is a good way to relax, and we can choose an interesting film together.
B: I’d rather spend the weekend outdoors. Why don’t we explore some places in the country instead?
A: That sounds nice too. Fresh air and a walk in the country would be great.
Situation Two
A: We should decorate Rachel’s room in a cosy and pretty way. Let’s put in some pink cushions, teddy bears, dolls, flowers and pictures of animals.
B: I don’t agree. Rachel is a grown-up teenager, so she would probably prefer something more modern.
A: But a soft and lovely room will make her feel comfortable.
B: She would like photos of her favourite actors and athletes, as well as modern gadgets, youth magazines and pictures of motor bikes. That would suit her better.
A: You may be right. Let’s try to make the room both cosy and modern.
