•a new umbrella;
•a new hair dryer;
•an electronic reader.
Discuss all the three possibilities. Be active. Say what decision you’ve finally made.

A: I need advice. My sister’s birthday is coming soon, and I don’t know what present to give her.

B: Let’s think about all the possibilities. A new umbrella is practical, but it may be too ordinary for a birthday present.

A: Yes, I agree. What about a new hair dryer?

B: That’s a useful present, especially if she uses one every day. But it may not be very special either.

A: Then maybe an electronic reader?

B: That’s a great idea. It’s modern, interesting and useful for reading books anywhere.

A: I think so too. I’ve finally decided to buy her an electronic reader.

B: Good choice! I’m sure she’ll like it.
