1) For some time the children watched the strange bird flying in circles above their house. It was a very unusual bird with bright feathers and a long tail. The children were surprised and excited. They stood quietly and looked at it for a long time.

2) No one noticed the big car drive along the road. It was moving very fast and made almost no noise. The driver was in a hurry. The car disappeared round the corner in a few seconds.

3) The boy felt someone take him by the hand. He turned round and saw an old woman smiling at him. She wanted to help him cross the street. The boy felt much calmer after that.

4) In spring people can hear birds singing in parks and gardens. They sing early in the morning and late in the evening. Their songs sound especially beautiful. Spring feels warmer and more cheerful because of them.

5) We can watch our city growing. New houses, shops and roads appear every year. The streets become busier and more modern. It is interesting to see how the city changes.

6) Did you see Margo win the one hundred-metre race? She ran very quickly and left the other girls behind. The crowd cheered loudly. It was a great victory for her.

7) In my dream I saw myself climbing a high mountain. The path was steep and rocky. I was tired, but I kept going. At the top I saw a wonderful view.

8) We loved to sit at the fireplace and watch wood burning in it. The flames were warm and bright. The room was quiet and cosy. We often spent winter evenings like that.
