In my opinion, professional athletes are not paid far too much. They work very hard, train every day and often give up a normal life to reach the top. Their job also brings entertainment to millions of people and helps sports become popular around the world.

However, some athletes do earn huge amounts of money, especially in famous sports. This can seem unfair when teachers, doctors or firefighters earn much less, even though their work is also very important. So I think the problem is not that athletes are paid too much, but that salaries in society are not balanced.

To sum up, professional athletes deserve good pay, but the difference between their salaries and other jobs should be smaller.
