Vocabulary: Insects/Bugs
a) Listen and say. Which of these can you see in the pictures? Which are common in your country?

Reading
- Read the title of the text and the first and last sentences of each paragraph. Who eats insects these days? What are the benefits? Read the rest of the text to find out.

- Listen to and read the article. Say four things you have learnt from it.
- Think! How are attitudes towards eating insects changing and why? Would you like to eat them? Why?/Why not? Write a few sentences about this in your notebook, then read them to your partner or the class.
2. Insects are eaten today in four-fifths of countries around the world. The benefits are that insects are plentiful, healthy, rich in vitamins and protein, low in cholesterol, and need only a fraction of the resources used for meat production.

8. Four things I have learnt from the article:
1. Insects are eaten in many countries around the world.
2. People in some countries already use insects in everyday food.
3. Insects can taste quite good, for example like nuts or cheese omelette.
4. Insect farming is environmentally friendly because it uses fewer resources than meat production.
9. Attitudes towards eating insects are changing because people are beginning to see them as a healthy and environmentally friendly food. Insects are rich in protein and vitamins, and they need fewer resources than meat. I would try them because they are nutritious and interesting. However, I would prefer them only if they were cooked well and tasted good.
